the first impression one has of any group or organization is its name.
that is my problem with "the name'.
active, or even questioning witnesses will undoubtedly be alarmed by the connotation of name.
Modern 'Marketing' is the multi-billion dollar business of decieving people.
It's sole purpose is to increase profits.
The Watchtower 'markets' religion.
Consumer advocacy informs about the true worth of the product- exposing its flaws
and recommending improvements or alternatives
... can you name that the wts hurts people?.
two big ones for me:.
it pushes people to the edge and when they commit suicide they say: "well he wasn't really a jw anyways soit has nothing to do with us".. it pushes people so much to do more and more and more that they get depressed, and physically sick.

My son developed mental illness at a very early age after years of excessive discipline, religious indoctrination, and the many asorted and unique
social stresses proferred on JW children, by their ignorant, brainwashed parents.
For much of his teens and youth he heard voices, yet said nothing as he sank into terrible madness, all alone.
Why? - because he assumed he was 'demonized', and didn't want that to affect his fathers 'position' as an elder.
Imagine an 'elder', so stupid as to not even be aware that your own child is insane, because of the way he was raised, and lies he was taught.
Thanks Watchtower -our life was such a phoney, hypocritical, manufactured and covert hell, we didn't even make it out with all our lives..
i'm really struggling with it.
i've been learning the ttatt for the past 6 months now and i've been inadvertantly fading - either one of us or the children have had coughs/colds/flu/chicken pox/stress over the past 3 months which has meant we've missed a lot of meetings and field service with good reason.
we've only been out in service twice this year, so far no ones mentioned it to us but i'm waiting for our group overseer to bring it up anytime soon.

I am so upset to think you are still having such anguish (because I know from experience the same pain)
If I could make 2 suggestions -
1. Write a therapeutic letter. Please, back up about 20 hours on JWN, and read the letter our 'sis' Skygreen wrote to her elders (It's her post number 135). her concerns are similar to yours.
You express yourself well, and writing gives the opportunity to present personal, private, thoughts thouroughly and explicitly. A thoughtful letter to the 'right' elder (if you have one) may champion your pleas for peace and freedom from coercion.
2. Take a copy of your letter, and visit a counsellor - in times of grief, sorrow and pressure, a good councellor is a true friend in the hour of need.

Secrecy - members are coerced to shun people for reasons they are never given.
aberations of justice - one punishment fits all crimes large or small
let me say, i was so excited about aawa.
but these guys have tried to start a revolution based on 20/21st century ideals.
revolution is anarchy.

That aggressive, 'in your face name' name may be a good vehicle to differentiate the arrogant, delusional, greedy,
abusive master from the humble, ill-informed and manipulated slaves of the R&F JWs.
'Kick Ass' someone called it... yeah, let's all get together... and Kick some Watchtower Corporate Ass!

Watchtower Abuse ------- Anti Watchtower ?
The five most damaging practices (targetted by that excellent Mission Statement) are all abuses, whether of
ones very person, their freedoms, family or security.
A name change that reflects this as the main concern would be my preference also.
Could an association truthfully present itself as non-sectarian if its name identifies it as 'anti Watchtower'?
i just listened to this talk about morphic resonance by rupert sheldrake.
i find it quite interesting.
in it he talks about the formation of habits in and learning.

Hello and welcome to you.
You are probably correct about the gradual absorbtion of knowledge bringing about change.
However there is some urgency involved with this particular knowledge, as people are in peril and pain right now.
So like the medical/educational feilds push their agendas forward ASAP to bring relief, comfort and health - so too with liberating the exploited, the sooner the better for everyone.
